Dr. Ashley Salazar

Education: Parker University College of Chiropractic

Hometown: Brownwood, TX

Growing up in the small town of Brownwood, Texas Dr. Salazar had never experienced the healing power of chiropractic until she suffered a cheerleading injury in high school. Back then she thought chiropractors had to be bigger than their patients since the first chiropractor she went to was 6’5”, but since then she has learned otherwise. Originally planning on going to medical school Dr. Salazar was curious what other options she had as she approached her 3rd and final year of completing her undergraduate degree. When she researched chiropractic in more depth and found it could help with many other health conditions besides just neck and back pain, she was intrigued at why more people did not know about all chiropractic could do for them. After going to Parker University for a school visit, she realized that is where she was meant to be, and the rest as they say is history.

Dr. Salazar has developed a true passion for helping patients since becoming a licensed chiropractor in 2016. Her knowledge of aiding in patient treatment goes back over 10 years when she worked as a Chiropractic Assistant while finishing her Bachelor’s of the Arts degree with a major in Biology from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.

Since then, she has gone on to graduate from Parker University College of Chiropractic with a Doctorate in Chiropractic as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Anatomy and a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Wellness. RockTape Kinesiology Taping has certified her in Functional Movement Techniques which is an evidence-based approach to taping for pain, enhancing fluid dynamics, posture, nerve entrapment and scars. Dr. Salazar was also nominated and awarded DFW Mom Approved for 2020 due to her work as a certified Webster Technique practitioner.

Dr. Salazar loves getting to know patients so she has a better understanding of how to help them accomplish every goal they wish to achieve. If she doesn’t have the answer, she will work hard to find a solution for them and takes pride in being a part of your healthcare team.

Being a daughter of immigrants, she was taught the importance of family from a very young age. Her love of caring for families starts from treating pregnant mothers and their babies (following birth) all the way to the grandparents and everyone in between. Military families also hold a special place in her heart as her two brothers serve their country with the United States Army and she fully understands the toll this commitment takes on the human body.

In her free time Dr. Salazar loves to go to music concerts, travel, spend time with family, or catch a ball game with her husband and her baby girl. She can also be found walking and playing with her dogs Beau and Bella on a pretty day.
