Dr. Rob Cheyne

Education: New Zealand College of Chiropractic

Hometown: Wellington, New Zealand

Laughter and positive energy fuel Dr. Cheyne’s every day as he goes beyond managing pain to target the cause of his patients’ dysfunction. After an appointment with him, patients come out of his clinic certain that he genuinely cares for them and is determined to find a way to reach their goals. As a former collegiate player and NCAA National Championship tennis coach for Baylor University, Dr.Cheyne’s mission is to help treat and educate patients on how to function at their highest level.

Growing up in Wellington, New Zealand, a melting pot of cultures and sports, he learned to love diversity, to take nothing for granted and to be grateful for all opportunities life presents. His most inspirational opportunity was witnessing how his father, grandfather, uncle and sister — all outstanding Doctors of Chiropractic — transformed the lives of patients, whose gratitude moved young Dr. Cheyne and convinced him to join this life-changing profession. His own stress fractures, spasms, sciatica, tennis and Crossfit injuries, as well as TMJ dysfunction, were fully resolved through chiropractic care and treatments.

When asked what wellness means to him, Dr. Cheyne often quotes the WHO: “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.” Just because you’re not in pain doesn’t mean you’re healthy. Health requires maintenance.

That’s why Dr. Cheyne exercises for the joy of it, while playing tennis, golf, soccer, cross-fit, running and fishing. He chooses to have a positive outlook on life and on stress while enjoying interaction with people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures.

Since graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Kinesiology at California State University then earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Dr. Cheyne has treated and empowered over 50,000 patients. He specializes in chronic pain management, geriatric wellness programs, myofascial release technique, Prenatal-Webster Technique, pediatric care, post-rehab conditioning and sports injury treatment.
