Dr. Jessica Romo

Education: Cleveland Chiropractic College

Hometown: Kansas City, MO

Communication is key in Dr. Romo’s practice, which is why her patients fully understand every step of their care plan. She explains in detail what treatment will be delivered during each appointment and why, so patients know what to expect afterwards, and how it will help them in both the short and long term. That’s how Dr. Romo inspires care plan compliance in a very diverse set of patients.

Vibrant diversity enhanced Dr. Romo’s childhood community in Kansas City where she enjoyed a plethora of entertainment venues including theme parks like Kaleidescope, zoos, parks and sporting events which always filled her social calendar. She still adores spending an afternoon at The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens or going to an exciting game at the Truman Sports Complex.

The only disruption to an idyllic childhood was a chronic condition that limited her activity and brought on stressful social ridicule of her entire family. After seeing multiple doctors, having myriad tests and trying a variety of treatments that failed, Dr. Romo finally saw a chiropractor. After just 3 weeks of care the 12-year-old experienced relief from pain and discomfort she had thought would never end. That was the day she decided that instead of becoming a lawyer or judge she wanted to be a chiropractor and bring that same relief and wellness to others the way her DC did for her.

True wellness requires “everything in moderation,” according to Dr. Romo — and that means making time for mental and physical self-care amidst our many daily responsibilities. To maintain her own wellness, she takes serene, stress-relieving lakeside trail talk-walks with her best friend, works out at the gym three times per week and enjoys dinners, card games, video games, cookouts and yard games with friends and family. Before bed she loves to wind down with a good book — it helps her body prepare for sleep more quickly, keeping her sleep routine so consistent that she’s able to wake up on time without an alarm!

Since earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Dr. Romo has treated over 3000 patients applying her specialties: active and myofascial release techniques, chronic pain management, corporate wellness and ergonomics, geriatric wellness, orthopedics, post-rehab conditioning and sports injury care.
